Z39.50 Ranked List Query (Type 102) Information

Introduction

A sub-group of the Z39.50 Implementor's Group was working to define a new query type - the Type 102 Ranked List Query (RLQ) - for eventual inclusion in the Z39.50 standard. The RLQ was being specifically designed to accommodate the ranked searching technologies used by the majority of large-scale commercial information providers and information industry software vendors.
