Hi,

The main purpose of this message is to serve as a reminder for par-
ticipants who expect to attend the TRECVID 2014 workshop, November
10-12 at UCF in Orlando, Florida and will need a visa to enter the
US and/or a letter of invitation.

It is advisable to start the visa process *VERY* early. Past experience
indicates that it can be surprisingly time-consuming to get a US visa.
In some years there have been people who planned to attend the workshop
but who were unable to do so because they could not get a visa in time.
By U.S. law, NIST staff cannot intervene on your behalf to expedite
the visa process.

If you need an invitation letter, please send an email request to
Angela.Ellis at nist.gov explaining what exactly the invitation letter
must contain, and including the following information in your request:

        1) TRECVID team ID

        2) recipient's full name, postal address and phone number
EXACTLY as it should appear in the invitation letter

The letter will be returned by email as a scanned document attachment
(.pdf) unless you have requested other arrangements. (Be aware that
physical mail has its own built-in delays in that mail to some
countries must be reviewed by a separate office here at NIST.)

Please note that details about the conference and hotel costs, etc.,
may not be available for a month or so. Finally please remember
that you can only attend the TRECVID workshop if you are a member of
a group that has submitted at least one run to TRECVID by the deadline
for that task.

Thanks,
Paul
